Today I have some creative miscellany for you, the kinds of things that I might go on about if we were getting coffee, chatting and showing each other our sketchbooks. So grab a cup of something nice and let's go!

Painted backgrounds

Earlier this month I had an idea for a diagram about coming out. I made a few rough sketches and felt like I knew exactly what I wanted to do, and so I drew it out, but I didn't like it so I drew it again. This went on for six sketchbook spreads before I found one I liked (though, I didn't like it that much, and haven't done anything with it since!). In each opening I was just drawing on the right side because I wanted the final piece to be on clean paper without anything showing through.
