Dec 2022: Wintering

Winter is here! We had our first little bit of snow at least, and I feel the shift in my body - dark, short days, and the pull to be inside, in the warmest spot I can find.

I'm noticing the way my approach to making art changes throughout the year. This is not the first winter that I've found myself working to lamplight, making small and cozy paintings. I often write to you all what I'd like to write to myself and this month, this is it: art-making is a body task, so of course it will change and feel different, as things change and feel different in my body. For me, this means art is getting slower and smaller.
