For you: Spring Reference Pics
So many times I have sat down to sketch and ended up using my time searching through my phone or royalty-free photo archives (like pexels or unsplash) just looking for something to paint. There can be some value to this process – really asking ourselves what we are interested in, the surprising ideas that come to us from browsing, and getting better at identifying the kinds of images that will make the best paintings. But sometimes, I just want something easy to grab, so I can hop right into the work of shapes and color, getting that paint down on the paper.
I've been working on a collection of reference photos to have at hand. I want to share them with you too: EDI members are completely welcome to use these as references for your own art! If you share the final works and want to tag me that's awesome, but I'm not placing any formal requirements usage. Be free!
Currently, the collection has 140 photos, including the flowers of spring 2024 and a few farm animals I've met recently. I'll keep updating it periodically.
We'll be using reference photos from this set for our EDI Live class today in about a half an hour. Looking forward to seeing you at 12pm PT! Join us.
