July 2022: Value, Part 1
Last weekend we went camping near a lake, and I woke up at dawn with my little dog Miko who was absolutely beside herself that we had spent the entire night outside, and were in fact, still outside now at 5AM. She had dreamed all her life of going on a walk did that didn't end, and this was practically that.
So she and I were up strolling around the campground, watching Mount Thielson across the lake come to life. Its last glacier melted since our most recent visit in the summer before the pandemic. Now, there were soft snowy patches above the tree line and they were glowing pink. I wanted to take a photo but my phone had died, so I had a good look and went to my sketchbook.
